Shrimp & Co opened on 21 July 2026 at 50-52 Hanover Street, introducing its interactive Louisiana seafood boil concept to Liverpool following successful branches in Manchester and Birmingham. Positioned directly opposite the entrance to Liverpool ONE, the restaurant provides an energetic, hands-on dining experience centred on steaming bags of shellfish drenched in aromatic spiced butter sauces.

What Shrimp & Co does

The restaurant offers a communal dining experience where food is eaten with the hands rather than traditional cutlery. Tables are lined with heavy butcher paper, and diners are equipped with plastic bibs, disposable gloves, and metal shell crackers. Shellfish is boiled in high-temperature food bags alongside sweetcorn on the cob and baby potatoes, tossed thoroughly in melted house-spiced butter sauces, and poured directly onto the table for shared feasting.

The entire restaurant operation is 100% Halal certified, filling a significant demand in Liverpool city centre for premium Halal seafood dining and family-friendly celebrations.

The seafood boil menu and signature sauces

Diners customise their feast across several clear options:

  • Shellfish Selection: Atlantic lobster tails, Alaskan king crab legs, snow crab clusters, jumbo black tiger king prawns, Scottish black mussels, and tender calamari rings.
  • Sauce Blends: Traditional Cajun (smoky paprika and cayenne), Rich Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper (citrus and cracked black pepper), and the house "Trifecta", an emulsified blend combining all three sauces into a single rich glaze.
  • Heat Levels: Ranging from Mild and Medium to Hot and Extra Hot (prepared with fresh bird's-eye chillies).
  • Accompaniments: Steamed sweetcorn cobs, tender red baby potatoes, Halal smoked beef sausages, crispy Cajun seasoned fries, and steamed jasmine rice for soaking up leftover spiced butter.

Fried seafood, burgers and mocktails

For guests preferring plated dishes, the kitchen prepares crispy buttermilk-fried seafood:

  • Crispy Dynamite Shrimp: Panko-crusted king prawns tossed in a creamy, sweet sriracha glaze.
  • Soft-Shell Crab Burgers: Whole crispy fried soft-shell crab served in a toasted brioche bun with spicy slaw and pickled gherkins.
  • Seafood Mac & Cheese: Baked macaroni pasta in rich cheddar and gruyère sauce folded with chopped lobster and prawns.
  • Mocktail Bar: The restaurant is completely alcohol-free, serving house-made mocktails including Passion Fruit Sparklers, Blue Lagoon sodas, and iced mint lemonades.
