Factual corrections
If an article contains a factual error, we correct the text as quickly as possible. For significant factual corrections on live reporting or guides, we note the nature of the update.
Clarifications and context
If wording could mislead even when technically accurate, we clarify the passage rather than leaving ambiguity in place.
Substantial updates and time stamps
When the substance of a live news story or practical guide changes (for instance, a council policy update, transport schedule revision or new historical discovery), we display a visible updated date to show readers when the information was last verified.

- The URL of the article
- The specific factual error or out-of-date information
- The correct information with supporting primary sources where available
