Village Cat opened on 31 July 2026 at 5-7 Allerton Road in Woolton Village, transforming the prominent corner premises previously occupied by Coast Café Bistro. It marks the fourth venue from the independent Black Cat hospitality team, following acclaimed neighbourhood bars on Smithdown Road, Rose Lane in Mossley Hill, and Parr Street in Ropewalks.

After years trading as daytime café bistro Coast, the Black Cat group acquired the site in early 2026, executing a complete six-month refit that revealed original stonework and opened up previously underutilised rear garden courtyards.
